Processing Delays To Expect in Delaware

The Delaware Division of Corporations will be implementing a major computer system update over an extended Labor Day weekend. The Division of Corporations will close for business at 4:30 p.m. (EDT) on Thursday, September 3, 2015 and is scheduled to reopen for business at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 (EDT).

The conversion to this new system will require time to complete all necessary tasks including the migration of data and images documenting 116 years of Delaware corporate law filings.  The 4-day conversion process has been scheduled for a holiday weekend in order to cause the least possible disruption for our customers. The State Agency understands that being closed on Friday, September 4 and the introduction of a new system the following Tuesday could potentially have unanticipated impacts on some necessary business transactions scheduled for this time period.

While the new system has undergone extensive testing, as with all major system conversions users should anticipate the possibility of delays associated with unanticipated bugs or connectivity problems that could arise. To ensure adequate time to address any such matters, the Division will modify its operating hours in the two weeks immediately following the conversion period.
