Startup Weekend Miami is actually an international event. Started by the Kauffman Foundation, this weekend event brings together all of the experts a young entrepreneur needs to launch their business.  The problem is simple: You can’t know all you need to know about marketing, public relations, tax laws, and copywriting to get your business on the move. Startup Weekend Miami brings these experts to you.

When is it?

Startup Weekend Miami takes place November 19th through the 21st, 2010.

What Happens?

You bring the idea, we bring the experts. If your idea is chosen as an idea to develop, the experts spend the weekend taking your idea from nothing more than a dream to an actionable plan. Even if your idea isn’t chosen, you’ll watch and help as experts develop another idea. You’ll learn exactly what you need to do to get your idea off the ground.

How Much does it Cost?

Startup Weekend Miami can’t help young entrepreneurs if they can’t afford to attend. This is not one of those thousand dollar weekend events. Tickets generally cost between $75 and $99 for the weekend. In exchange, you will receive thousands of dollars worth of great advice and direction.

Does it Really Work?

Startup Weekends aren’t about lectures and textbook knowledge. They’re about doing. Ideas are developed and if those ideas don’t become thriving businesses, Startup Weekends across the world are nothing more than a marketing sham.
